Brilliant photography meets high-flying motorcycle action

mx-pictures.com is the off road photo gallery on the net. By Matthias Schwarz.

Matthias Schwarz was born and raised at St. Wendel/Saarland - a former fixture on the national motorsports calendar since the 1950s. St. Wendel originally rose to fame with its top-class road racing events, held on the streets of the inner city.

Following this tradition, the 1970s saw international Motocross meetings and even some Motocross Grands Prix being staged.

The next decade belonged to the road race stars again, before the Supermoto scene took over more recently.

Matthias Schwarz shot his first photos 1979 with a Zeiss-Ikon borrowed from his father. He´s been frequently to Motocross tracks in Germany, Benelux and Europe ever since. His main activities are capturing Grand Prix Motocross, European and National Championship Motocross, as well as the booming sport of Supermoto.

The summer of 2003 finally marked the start of a new era for the journeyman. He went digital with his new digicam, a Canon EOS 10D. Back in his office, a Minolta dia-scanner (2820 dpi) is assisting to convert additional images shot with a conventional Canon EOS3.

Digital or analog, Matthias´ motto remains:
Brilliant photography meets high-flying motorcycle action

By the way:, the painting on our intro-side is painted 1984 by Helene Schwarz, based on the photo you see on the same place.
